We use Google Docs too – we use the option of replicating what’s online as folders on your laptops/ PC though we sometimes find discrepancies in files copying across from one user to another. Generally find Google streets ahead of Apple in terms of intuitive use and understanding.
Thanks. Looks like Google Docs and I’d not heard of Google Hangout so will go have a look. In addition to your comments, someone else I was talking to came down in favour of Google docs. They’re trying to transition to the cloud but they use One Drive and apparently its been a nightmare. They think it would have been much easier to make this transition if they’d been using Google docs because the functionality is better and it’s easier for people who haven’t used the cloud before.
Google Docs/Google Drive is great. It allows live document sharing. Link this with Google Hangout and you have the ability to talk with colleagues as a group or one to one, share screens (if you want/need to), collaborate on live documents all whilst working remotely.
The only issue to be aware of with Google Docs is the filing of documents; I’m not sure the filing system is capable of subdivision so that each colleague has he/her own filing, it’s completely shared.
