The Elephant Trust offers grant to artists in the visual arts, small organisations and galleries throughout the UK.
The Trust aims to make it possible for artists and those presenting their work to undertake and complete projects when frustrated by lack of funds. It is committed to helping artists and art institutions and galleries that depart from the routine and signal new, distinct and imaginative sets of possibilities.
Essential eligibility criteria:
There are normally four deadlines each year.
A set of guidelines can be found on the Trust's website.
Applicants are requested to provide the following information:
Cover sheet which is available to download from the Trust's website.
Synopsis of the project (single side of A4, 300 words maximum).
Budget (single side of A4) stating:
Total cost of the project.
Details of other funding applications made.
Name, address and email of recipient of grant, if awarded.
Brief CV (single side of A4).
Still images, maximum of eight.
Film/video should be submitted as online links.
Other visual materials, eg catalogues, press cuttings, only if relevant and may help the Trustees when considering the application.
Due to the volume of applications received, the Trustees reserve the right to discard any application which does not adhere to this application format.
Applications should be submitted by post. Email applications are not accepted.
Groups that have not heard within six weeks of the application deadline can take it that their application has not been successful.
